DACULA, GA — Former State Representative Farooq Mughal called for greater transparency and community engagement in local development decisions, citing growing concerns about traffic congestion, school overcrowding, and infrastructure strain.

“Residents deserve a seat at the table before large‑scale developments are approved,” Mughal said. “Growth must be responsible, sustainable, and aligned with the needs of existing communities.”

Mughal emphasized that during his legislative service, he worked closely with local governments, planning departments, and neighborhood groups to ensure development decisions reflected community priorities.

“Smart growth requires planning, not rubber‑stamping,” he added. “Georgia families should not bear the burden of unchecked development.”
