DACULA, GA — Former State Representative Farooq Mughal released a statement today emphasizing the need for continued investment in Georgia’s public schools, teachers, and students.

“Teachers are the backbone of our education system, and they deserve the resources and respect needed to do their jobs well,” Mughal said. “Strong schools begin with strong support for classrooms. During my first term, I hand-delivered thank-you notes to every teacher in my district to show my appreciation. I also fought for increased teacher funding, and I will continue to stand up for our educators.”

Mughal highlighted his work advancing policies that improved school funding, expanded workforce‑development pathways, strengthened partnerships between schools and local industries, and his bill to allow teachers to get a tax rebate on classroom materials they buy.

“Georgia’s future workforce depends on the investments we make today,” he added. “Every child deserves access to a high‑quality education.”
