Dacula, Georgia, 10/15/2024 - Jace Brooks, a long-standing leader in the Republican Party and former Gwinnett County Commissioner, endorsed State Representative Farooq Mughal for Georgia State House District 105 (Buford, Dacula, Lawrenceville) on October 15th, 2024.
In a statement, former Commissioner Brooks said:
"Farooq Mughal is a seasoned leader with the ethical values and experience required to represent Gwinnett at the State Capitol. I've known Farooq for a decade. He has served as chair of the Gwinnett County Community Outreach and the Gwinnett Transit Review Committee. He collaborates in a bipartisan fashion with Republicans to address issues such as job creation, transportation, economic development, tax reduction, and support for small businesses," stated Jace Brooks, former Gwinnett County Commissioner.
Farooq Mughal, the Democratic nominee for State House District 105, responded:
"It's an honor to receive endorsement from former County Commissioner Jace Brooks. My work with both Democrats and Republicans as a public policy expert on economic development, transportation, tax reduction, and job creation at the State Capitol is something I take pride in. In the State House, I intend to work in a bipartisan way to achieve results for HD-105, which includes reducing property and income taxes, providing sales tax relief on essential goods, lowering healthcare and prescription drug costs, enhancing public safety, and supporting our public servants, including teachers and law enforcement. If elected as State Representative by the people of HD-105, I am committed to immediately addressing these issues. I am thankful for the bipartisan support our campaign is receiving."
