DACULA, GA — Former State Representative Farooq Mughal today reflected on his legislative service, highlighting accomplishments in economic development, public safety, education, and community engagement.
“Serving the people of Georgia has been one of the greatest honors of my career,” Mughal said. “I am proud of the work we accomplished — from strengthening partnerships between state agencies and local communities to advancing policies that supported small businesses and improved public safety.”
During his term, Mughal helped pass bipartisan measures supporting minority, women, and veteran‑owned businesses; improving safety for healthcare workers; expanding behavioral‑health support for service members and veterans; increasing homestead exemptions for Gwinnett residents and public employees; strengthening workforce development; and protecting frontline utility workers.
Mughal also championed initiatives that expanded economic opportunities, promoted international trade relationships, and supported Georgia’s diverse communities.
“Looking ahead, my focus remains on policies that uplift families, strengthen local economies, and ensure Georgia remains a place of opportunity for all,” he said.
